Federico Peri appointed new Art Director of BROKIS
Federico Peri has previously designed lighting for BROKIS, and will now lead the creative development of the company, with a particular focus on strengthening the continuity between craftsmanship, research and design culture.
After 20 years of research into glass, light and craftsmanship, BROKIS is entering a new chapter with the appointment of Federico Peri as Art Director. The appointment marks the beginning of a long-term vision aimed at strengthening the relationship between design, production and contemporary culture, while keeping the values that have defined the company since its foundation firmly at its core. Peri's role is not to redefine the brand's identity, but to make it even more distinctive.
Founded in 2006 by Jan Rabell around the historic Janštejn glassworks, BROKIS has established itself as one of the leading names on the international contemporary lighting scene. ITs collections reinterpret the tradition of mouth-blown Bohemian glass through a design language that brings together production culture, technological innovation and formal research. Today, the brand is present in more than 110 countries and is entering a new phase with the ambition to create an even more cohesive identity across its products, visual identity, installations and international activities. It is within this context that the collaboration with Federico Peri Studio begins.
Milan-based designer Federico Peri has been working across product design, interiors and collectible design since 2011. His work is characterised by a distinct focus on the relationship between materials, light, surfaces and atmosphere, combined with a deep understanding of craftsmanship and construction quality. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with international companies and institutions, developing a design language that is understated, rigorous and timeless.
As Art Director, Federico Peri will lead BROKIS through a process of consolidating and further developing the brand's identity. His work will be rooted in a dialogue with the brand's heritage, production expertise, the culture of glassmaking and the position BROKIS has established over the years. These values will be translated into an even more cohesive vision across products, collections, visual identity, communication and international presence.
"BROKIS possesses an increasingly rare quality: an authentic identity that has been built over time through culture of glass, craftsmanship and a constant pursuit of new knowledge. Our task will not be to redefine this identity, but to make it even clearer and create greater continuity between product, architecture and the brand's vision, " says Federico Peri.
The artistic direction will gradually encompass every aspect of the company's creative expression – from the development of new collections and installations to visual identity and communication, as well as the development of collaborations and cultural projects.
"Over the past 20 years, BROKIS has grown by investing in craftsmanship, research and independence. Today, we feel a desire to take the next step: not to change who we are, but to communicate it with greater clarity and intention. Federico Peri shares our vision and, with both sensitivity and rigour, will lead the brand's continued development," says Jan Rabell, Founder and CEO.
The appointment of Federico Peri marks the beginning of a new era that will unfold over the coming years through new collections, collaborations and special projects. It is a development that looks towards the future without breaking the dialogue with the production tradition from which BROKIS emerged, while reaffirming the brand's position as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary lighting – with the ability to transform glass into light, and light into architecture.
About Federico Peri
Born in 1983, Federico Peri is based in Milan and has already made a distinctive mark on the international design scene. Peri's work is never about making a statement for the sake of it. Instead, he works with the understates, the tactile and the subtle details that gradually reveal themselves.
