Let there be light
Join us for an inspiring and interesting afternoon where we share knowledge and perspectives on light.
During the darkest period of the year, and as a prelude to CPH Light Festival which opens in a few days, FRAMING welcomes you to an event featuring two talks exploring the role of light in our surroundings and our quality of life.
Meet Stine Louring and Jesper Kongshaug for a conversation on the importance of light in the development of cities, buildings, and people.
We live in a world where darkness is felt both physically and metaphorically. In times like these, the ability to see and understand light is essential. Light shapes spaces, creates atmosphere, and influences how we relate to buildings and urban environment - this is why we invite you to celebrate light with us.
Light creates moods, shapes environments, and can radically transform the reality we inhabit. In a circular future - where we rethink, renovate, and create from what already exists rather than building anew - light becomes a crucial tool. "With light, existing architecture can be recreated and re-enchanted," says lighting designer and Artistic Director of CPH Light Festival, Jesper Kongshaug, who will share his perspectives in the first talk.
In the second talk, Stine Louring, anthropologist and PhD in lighting design, explores how light shapes mood and behavior. Through her research, she investigates how humans - and even marine life - perceive and sense light with both eyes and body. With more than 15 years of research into light, healing architecture, and art, Stine brings deep insight into how aesthetic elements such as light and colour influence how we experience and inhabit spaces.
